Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager is to provide support for the store manager and is responsible for store operations, sales volume, and profitability of the total store. In addition, provide leadership and supervision of the store personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Delegate through others… Set an example for the store
  • Communicate with employees, customers, and corporate officials
  • Uphold company policies and procedures
  • Allocate a monthly budget for department work schedules
  • Process reports
  • Recruit and hire new employees
  • Implement training procedures to develop new employees
  • Evaluate current employees
  • Practice and teach customer service techniques
  • Merchandise the sales floor
  • Shop the competition and keep abreast of fashion trends
  • Work in conjunction with Loss Prevention to monitor financial department, stockroom, dressing rooms, etc. for potential security concerns
  • Promote the image of Hamrick’s by practicing good public relations
  • Discipline of employees
  • Daily accountability of sales performance
  • Personnel motivation and team building
  • Other duties assigned by management

Special abilities, required skills, or education needed to perform the essential job functions: Business related or Fashion Merchandising degree or several years of retail management preferred. Organization and time management skills required.

Physical demands of the job: Position requires vigorous amounts of bending, standing and lifting.

OSHA Standards: This job is classified as a category “2” for being at risk or exposure to HIV, hepatitis, and other infectious diseases.
